  1. The circulatory fluid of those molluscs and
  2. insects that have an `open' circulatory
  3. system. Haemolymph contains water, amino
  4. acids, sugars, salts, and white cells like
  5. those of blood. Circulated by a pulsating
  6. heart, its main functions are to transport
  7. digestive and excretory products around the
  8. body. In molluscs, it also transports oxygen
  9. and carbon dioxide.
